Work-Trade Residency
Applications for our Fall 2026 Work Trade Residency are now open! The deadline to apply is May 15, 2026. The residency runs from September 14 through December 14, 2026. Applicants will be notified by June 15, 2026.
The Work Trade Residency program is an ideal way to experience life at A-Z West and to become part of our intimate community.
For 2–4 weeks residents work 10-15 hours per week around the compounds at A-Z West in exchange for lodging and studio space. They help with grounds, general maintenance, and in the ceramics studio producing A-Z West Containers, a key source of income for A-Z West.
We encourage residents to continue working on their own individual projects while at A-Z West, and provide small shipping container studios for residents to use. With advance permission, all residents can access the A-Z West weaving, wood and ceramics studios.
Applications for our Fall season (September 14–December 14) are due May 15 with a notification date of June 15.
Applications for our Spring season (January 15–June 1) are due September 1 with a notification date of October 15.
